Hi folks:
I finally obtained a copy of Barbara Marx Hubbard's book, Emergence.
It is really very good, and provides one example of a total blueprint
for evolution, missing only the prospects of evolution being
stimulated by outside physical forces (catastrophe) but suggesting
spiritual forces at work helping.
Our discussions in the Prophecy Forum have been lively and we are
building energy for the September gathering.
I'd like to invite those of you who are working on book summaries to
finish and get into our forum.
I'm also going to put some quotes here from Emergence, and hope that
maybe one of you might be inspired to work up a summary of the book.

"The coming of a spiritual age must be preceded by the
appearance of an increasing number of individuals who are
no longer satisfied with the normal intellectual, vital, and
physical existence of man, but perceive that a greater evolu-
tion is the real goal of humanity and attempt to effect it in
themselves, to lead others to it, and to make it the recognized
goal of the race. In proportion as they succeed and to the
degree to which they carry this evolution, the yet unrealized
potentiality which they represent will become an actual pos-
sibility of the future."
—Sri Aurobindo

"Find me somebody who has detached his emotional and
psychological ego from the real self, without having to
deny the place it plays in the scheme of things and with-
out slaying any part of himself because the transcendence
is there also, and I will have discovered the ineffable in the
individual and a direct pathway for the communion of my
own soul."
—Ernest Holmes

"There is emerging from out of the mist of myth, religious and
scientific, a new thought, so new, so ancient. This
thought is that the transcendent God of History indwells
each of us as us. Our relation to all avatars is that of
younger siblings, sisters and brothers who are awakening
at last to the awesome and exhilarating truth, the final fact
of the ultimate covenant. We are the heirs, the operative
expressions of divinity Itself, now!"
—Sidney Thomas Lamer

"There are fifty million people in the United States alone
that have undergone a comprehensive shift in their world-
view, values, and way of life. They express serious ecolog-
ical and planetary perspectives, emphasis on relationships
and women's point of view, commitment to spirituality
and psychological development, disaffection with the large
institutions of modern life, including both left and right in
politics, and rejection of materialism and status display.
This is twenty-six percent of the adult population of the
United States. As recently as the early 1960s, less than five
percent of the population was engaged in making these
momentous changes, A similar phenomenon is happening
in Europe."
—Paul H. Ray, Ph.D., and Sherry Ruth Anderson, Ph.D.

We can become something that we never were—and
have always been. We can create something that we could
not have imagined—and that we've always dreamed. We
can produce something on this planet that we never
thought possible—and that we always knew was probable,
sooner or later.
We can do this if we will allow ourselves to explore
together, and to take together, the journey to the ultimate
realization of our human nature, and the total experience
of our divine nature, which are one and the same.
This will take a sincere willingness to deeply under-
stand both the prior limits of our human experience and
the unlimited wonder of our human potential—and to turn
what we have come to understand into the functioning
realities of our daily life.
And it will take opportunity.
That's what you're holding in your hand. If I were
called upon to describe this book in one word, 1 would say:
opportunity. Because that's what this book represents. And
it is an opportunity that you have called to yourself.
So now, read what you were meant to read. Know
what you were meant to know. What you have always
known—and are now ready to act upon.
Your own emergence is at hand.
—Neale Donald Walsch
